Qualitative

Face Fit Testing Service

Andrew Alder Associates Limited provide a qualitative face fit testing service. If you provide respiratory protective equipment (RPE) to your employees then it is essential that you have documentary evidence to show the RPE fits the wearer.

By carrying out a face fit test for each individual you can be sure that your organisation is fulfilling the requirements laid out in the Health and Safety Executives (HSE) guidance note HSE 282/28.

 

Please note that in order for the face fit tests to work, those attending face fitting session MUST NOT eat, drink or chew gum 15 minutes and not smoke for at least an hour before the test is performed.

They MUST also be clean-shaven as stubble will prevent a good seal and the face fit test may fail. Failure to adopt this requirement will result in the person NOT being tested.

Upon Successful competition of the test a certificate will be issued detailing make, model, type and size of respiratory protection fitted.

We offer the following training:-

Abrasive Wheels

Abrasive Wheels are used in many areas and can be highly dangerous. The course involves both classroom and practical sessions covering not just the Health and Safety Regulations and safe working practices but also providing a practical session for wheel/ disc changing and mounting.

This course will provide you with an introduction to working safely with abrasive wheels so that you can identify the hazards, understand the risks and put the appropriate control measures in place to prevent injury and ill-health.

Manual Handling

The Manual Handling Operations and Regulations 1992 requires employers to ensure that all employees are trained and competent in manual handling.

This course provides the necessary information and training for companies to understand about risks associated with manual handling, how to undergo a risk assessment and how to ensure appropriate control measures are put in place.

Working at Height

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 requires employers to ensure that a suitable risk assessment is carried out so that all potential work at height risk are identified, controlled and managed.

Every employer must ensure that their employers are appropriately trained to ensure that they can carry out their work safely.

This course helps to make employers and employees aware of the necessary information needed to be able to deal with working at height risks and control measures.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance that cause serious ill-health to anyone who disturbs it. Anyone who is likely to disturb asbestos in their work must have an awareness of the current health and safety procedures to follow.

Asbestos Awareness (Category A) training helps works to understand the risks associated with the material so that they can avoid work that may disturb asbestos.

Workers who plan to work which knowingly disturb asbestos require a higher level of training (Category B or C) which is not supplied by this course. This course does not enable you to work with asbestos containing materials.

General Health and Safety

By law, a basic understanding of health and safety is essential for all employees in all industries to ensure that workplace risks are recognised and managed effectively.

This course introduces the candidate to many aspects of Health and Safety at work and is intended to help raise safety standards and awareness of legal responsibilities, accident prevention and key areas of work place health and safety.

Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 replaced CDM 2007 on 6th April 2015 and places specific responsibilities on duty holders, including clients, designers and contractors and making them accountable for the consideration and management of health and safety on construction sites. This CDM training course will provide a practical understanding of key duty holder requirements under the regulations.

Our training packages can be tailored to your specific training requirements. We can undertake the training at your place of work or at our training room, whichever is more convenient for you.

Home Builders

If you're a self-builder we can help and support you with health & Safety and the CDM regulations and legislation.

The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 are the main set of regulations for managing Health and safety on all construction projects, including self builds. 

As a client you are required by law to comply with these regulations.

As Principal Designer, we assist you and your builders to fulfil your legal duties. We provide specific:

  • Help and support on Health and Safety and CDM Regulations and Legislation
  • Health and Safety Training / Certificates
  • Health and Safety documentation including risk assessments, construction phase health and safety plan, method statements etc. for the self-build
